Echoes

Survive a haunted world by sound alone.

Echoes is an audio-first ghost-stealth adventure built from the ground up to be fully playable without sight. Every menu, every line of dialogue, and every threat is delivered through sound — no screen reader needed, everything is self-voiced.

Explore five hand crafted, story-driven levels, where each level unlocks a part of the current story.  Use Echo Location to paint an audio map of your surroundings, and your Echo Pulse device to discover hidden objects.  Navigate to locator beacons and use the game's path guidance system to find your way.  Move carefully and stay alert, because — the ghosts are listening for you too.

A revolution in story-telling.  Powered by the community, via a community story hub, where you can browse and select the stories of others to play through, or get inspired and write your own story.  Fiction or Non-Fiction.  All stories you write are submitted to the community anonymously by default, so you can share how you want to share.  The story creation process is done with a custom creation wizard that guides you through the story writing process and a complete dictation package, so you can simply speak your story to the game, using the Meta Quest's built in microphone if you are playing in VR, or any PC compatible microphone if you are playing on Windows.  The community story hub also includes a full reporting system, content filters, and rating system, to keep our community safe.

Open beta — your feedback shapes the game

I am David, a legally blind solo developer, and I am building Echoes with the blind gaming community. This is an open beta: tell me what works and what does not. Bug reports, audio-cue suggestions, accessibility requests — I read and answer everything personally.

How to play

Windows: download the zip, extract it anywhere, and run Echoes.exe.
Meta Quest: sideload the APK onto your headset (for example with SideQuest).
